"It's the Altitude"

We blame EVERYTHING on the altitude up here! If you're tired, if you're sick, moody, hyper or slept in late: it's the altitdue. I would like to take this time to just say how amazing God is. His plan is sincerely perfect. Thinking about where I thought I would be this summer and looking around at where I am..... Praise Jesus I don't run the universe. This past week has been full of hiking, trips to Boulder, haircuts, cleaning, painting, and getting to know the town of Estes Park. Our wonderful fabulous innkeeper gave us half Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. We are crazy ahead of schedule on preparing the Inn for opening weekend (this weekend)! So the staff took sometime to hang out and become bffs :) I just adore everyone here so much! I'm getting closer with the 5 other Hospitality kiddos from OSU and I am becoming quick friends with the others. It's snowing today!! After mopping out the cabins and painting porches the clouds barrelled in over the mountain. Tr...

Wanted: Colorado Mountain Man

I found this title fitting because of my crazy urge to hike up mountains lately! (and because Dear Darci and I joked about this being the name of my blog, becuase, let's face it, that's my type :]) I realize I have three days to catch you up on, here we go, lightning round style! Sunday: Went to Mountain View Bible Fellowship right down the mountain from the Inn. I was a little nervous, but it's God's House and God's family....hopefully I'd be welcome. God blessed me with the most wonderful older women. One of them called after me as I walked in exclaiming that she did not know my face. Her name is Joyce and her and her husband lived in Waco the first three years they were married. She did not enjoy it and she has no problem letting me know that. She has been going to this church since 1962. Insert Barbie (wearing an ironic pink skirt suit) her and Joyce have been best friends since the 70's. Joyce then begins to introduce me to nearly every member of the co...

Boulder, Joyce and Barbie, Gandolf

HELLO! I know, I know...I missed a couple days! That's gonna happen, BUT I will do my best to keep you up to date on all the adventures up here. Saturday consisted of cleaning the Inn, training in front desk business, and taking my Momma to the airport. That was kinda hard :/ I realize I'm not "on my own" but driving home alone in the mountains, sure feels like it. I'm SOOO happy she was able to come with me and we could share the last couple of great days together. I returned to the Inn and got ready for our dinner out in town. We go out to see what restaurants we will recommend to guests and which ones we will learn to not be like in our own service :) This particular dinner was DELICIOUS!!!! Everything had basil in it :) So, OBVIOUSLY, I was excited :) THE DESSERT! My MOSES, the desserts were amazing! We ordered one of everything and passed them around, like a true litte family! When we got back, off to Boulder the WHOLE staff of interns went. The night started...

Christmas in May!?

Who would have thought, my first night at my SUMMER internship, I'd be drinking a mug full of peppermint tea, next to a crackling fire, while the snow tumbled down the roof of the Inn?!?! This place is just sincerely breathtaking. CAN YOU HEAR THE PITTER-PATTER OF MY HEART?!?! As you might of guessed, I made it to Estes Park! Momma and I had quite the adventure up here. Stopped by Denver....well a tid bit south in the foothills(!!!!) where we took these twisty, windy roads to see a friend of my parents. The man lives in a house that was once a cult headquarters. All the stories were so zany. One of the rooms had a giant window like the one's in the sultan's castle in Aladdin! ALSO his family owns, THE most LUXURIOUS horse barn I've ever seen!! It was nicer than most dorms I've had the pleasure of living in (:/) After the BEST fish tacos I've ever had, we headed up to Estes! My mother was not created to live in cold weather. As we continued up the mountain, she e...

Oh Hey, Y'all :)

Welcome one and all to my new (and first. yay!) blog about my crazy, awesome, blessed experiences in Estes Park, Colorado. I have an internship as a front desk agent at an Inn in that GORGEOUS location. As a Hospitality Management MAJOR.....I'm plannin on learnin a lot I just might use in the future. Hebrews 13:2 inspired the name of this lil internet based newsletter to y'all. (and TRUST me..there was a LOT of brainstorming and debate on the title!) "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by this, some have entertained angels without knowing it." I've decided to make this my motto as I meet all sorts of new, wonderful people this Summer! maybe Gabriel and Michael will pop in for a night or two at the Inn ;) I'll try my darnedest to make this blog an entertaining read. I will strive for once a day postings. (being a commitment phobe, I can't really make too many promises :/) I hope you understand! Yesterday, my BEAUTIFUL madre and I headed No...
