Good Day

We sang a song at Rocky Mountain Church on Sunday that shared the same title as my post today. It was all about the sunrising over the mountains and the elk walkin along the side of the road and rather the rain came or stayed away it was going to be a Good Day. Why? Because God created each day for us to enjoy and share with others. The amazing part of the song was we were singing about what was right outside our windows. I just stopped and stood there realizing that I am essentially livin in my idea of paradise. I don't say this to brag, I say this because I am completely in awe of what God is doin! He put me here for a very specific purpose. He knows the desires of my heart. That is so comforting to see it played out. Yes, the Bible says this, and I believe it with all my heart, but seeing it comes to life just puts your heart in a whole new place of worship and "Yes God, You are who You Are" This place just puts a lot into perspective :)

The week is going rather well Sunday was a crazy lunch of nearly 100 people (big deal for us :]) and then we had our yay staff meeting that introduced a scavenger hunt of the town. My team is probably going to lose...which is sad, but no is really all that competitive on our team haha. Monday and Tuesday went real well..little slow but went well. Lodging and dining are really starting to pick up. I have been put in charge of organizing (catch my mother as she faints at that thought) and that seems to make up for any slip up i do at the desk :) haha

Yesterday was my day off, so i slept in a little then went horseback riding with some of the girls and ted, one of our cooks. We had SO much fun! I rode a horse named Dandy who was an intermediate horse....I probably should of just said I had never rode before :/...I will take this time to say that the ranch hand that helped me with my horse was SO adorable. Redhead cowboy, about 6'5" (you know me and my 6' minimum ;}) and he was from Kansas. And his name was Heath....you don't get much cuter than that. Mmmk, I'm done :)

The trail ride was ridiculously beautiful! God is so good and crafty! There must be a Heavenly Hobby Lobby where he gets His supplies :)

Afterward, the girls headed off to Boulder for some retail therapy. Things have gotten a little stressful recently just because this is the hospitality industry aand we have 20 twentysomethings living and working together. A day away was a little necessary. I am an awful retail therapy shopper though...I bought a dress for work, socks, a tent,a nd lipgloss.....yeah....

We got home to the Inn, had some pie, and watched The Shining. That is the most stressful movie EVER! it's not really that SCARY, but Stanley Kubrick just messes with your mind! At the end, I was huddled in ball up against my friend Drew and i kept apologizin for being a pansey...but he jumped too so i didn't feel all that mad.

I pray everyone is having an amazing summer. I miss all my Texas and Oklahoma friends, but i know He is usin this time to grow us and make us stronger, good for something humans :)

I'm prayin for all ya'll :)

Cabin Fever

I want to run. BUT I am SO thankful for this time to work on school work. God is good and faithful :) It's just 5 short days until my FAVORITE day of the year: VALENTINE'S DAY! I know...I know... grumblegrumblegrumblegrumble Hear me out here: Forget about the pepto-pink aisles at WalMart lined with Love Note TUMS and enough candy to send you into a sugar coma for 19 months. Forget about the oversized Teddy bears that could double as couches if you ever found yourself in a pinch.Go with me here: Imagine a day where everyone has a little lift to their step, Imagine a day where sincere compliments are filling the hallways of offices and schools. Imagine smiles, all smiles, all day long. Imagine if for just one day everyone truly Loved their neighbor and treated everyone they met that day as a friend. That's the kind of Valentine's Day I'm rooting for :) More on that tomorrow :) Maybe I'll get to run too :)

Reason for the Season

"We love because HE FIRST LOVED us." 1 John 4:19 We are called to do as Christ did; Love...LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I cannot say that enough times. We are called to LOVE everyone. Love your fellow humans. There is absolutely NO reason to not love someone ESPECIALLY after you FIRST meet them. WHat have they done to you at that point that merits a no-love response? I'm not calling any one person out, I'm just sayin: If we are to truly live out a CHRISTian walk.....we best be lovin' on peole. CHRISTmas is a time of celebration for what our God has done for us. "For He SO LOVED the world, that he GAVE His ONLY begotten Son that who so ever BELIEVES in Him, should NOT perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 The God of the UNOVERSE Loved YOU enough to send His Son to the Earth, live a human life, with human temptation, and die on a cross as YOUR scape goat. THIS IS A BIG DEAL! Some people cannot wrap their minds around someone loving them that much bec...

December :)

October is my favorite month, but December...oh December.....it makes me heart so happy. It's like the cute boy in your boring class who just makes it worth it. ......an oatmeal cream pie following a rigorous workout. Vanilla Raspberry Black Coffee at 5:30am.... ....a hug on a less-than-stellar day... ...a dress with pockets.... You get it. December is FANTASTIC! I am challenging myself to blog every day in December. As most of you have realized, I am a truly awful blogger when it comes to my consistency. I look at this challenge as a way to work on my reliability and commitment issues :) I'm glad I have YOU to hold me accountable :)
