Christmas in May!?

Who would have thought, my first night at my SUMMER internship, I'd be drinking a mug full of peppermint tea, next to a crackling fire, while the snow tumbled down the roof of the Inn?!?!

This place is just sincerely breathtaking. CAN YOU HEAR THE PITTER-PATTER OF MY HEART?!?!

As you might of guessed, I made it to Estes Park!

Momma and I had quite the adventure up here. Stopped by Denver....well a tid bit south in the foothills(!!!!) where we took these twisty, windy roads to see a friend of my parents.

The man lives in a house that was once a cult headquarters. All the stories were so zany. One of the rooms had a giant window like the one's in the sultan's castle in Aladdin! ALSO his family owns, THE most LUXURIOUS horse barn I've ever seen!! It was nicer than most dorms I've had the pleasure of living in (:/)

After the BEST fish tacos I've ever had, we headed up to Estes! My mother was not created to live in cold weather. As we continued up the mountain, she exclaimed, "You are IN the mountains! This IS the MOUNTAINS!" We ascended into a cloud of snow, the yelling continued, as if I had told her I was interning in FLORIDA, "IT'S SNOWING! IT'S SNOWING A LOT! Chelsea! That IS SNOW!!!" Homegirl just gives me the giggles.

The Inn is AMAZING! SO precious! The staff is SO GREAT as well! We went out to eat in town then went to the grocery store. It was probably one of the most delightful grocery experiences of my life. Eleven of us bust through the doors and our wonderful, adorable Innkeeper grabs a basket and from then on it looked like ten ducklings followin Momma Duck. She'd go down an aisle and yell, "Cereal! Pick your cereal!" Funny Funny site! We get to the cookie aisle and she says, "Cookies, Candy, and Ric Cakes?! We NEED this aisle!!" I am for sure in the right place :)

After that, we went back up the mountain to unload groceries and fulfill the scene I described at the begining of the post :D

I have a WONDERFUL roommate up here, Emily. She is from Michigan and just a doll. She is a Front Desk Agent as well. I am noticing that all the FD interns are very tidy, organized people....how did I get through the screening? I WILL say, as a shock to both of my roommates in Stilly, that my room is starting off pretty organized...you'd be floored if you saw that I have a place for everything (which I never do at home, for those that don't know mw very well :/)

This is the Summer of change! I'm organized and I was up naturally without a blaring alarm clock at 6 am....what?!?! Could an all around, new, clean, well rested Chelsea return from this endeavor? Only time will tell :)

"Keep your lives simple and honest." Zechariah 8:16

Prayin for y'all :)

Cabin Fever

I want to run. BUT I am SO thankful for this time to work on school work. God is good and faithful :) It's just 5 short days until my FAVORITE day of the year: VALENTINE'S DAY! I know...I know... grumblegrumblegrumblegrumble Hear me out here: Forget about the pepto-pink aisles at WalMart lined with Love Note TUMS and enough candy to send you into a sugar coma for 19 months. Forget about the oversized Teddy bears that could double as couches if you ever found yourself in a pinch.Go with me here: Imagine a day where everyone has a little lift to their step, Imagine a day where sincere compliments are filling the hallways of offices and schools. Imagine smiles, all smiles, all day long. Imagine if for just one day everyone truly Loved their neighbor and treated everyone they met that day as a friend. That's the kind of Valentine's Day I'm rooting for :) More on that tomorrow :) Maybe I'll get to run too :)

Reason for the Season

"We love because HE FIRST LOVED us." 1 John 4:19 We are called to do as Christ did; Love...LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I cannot say that enough times. We are called to LOVE everyone. Love your fellow humans. There is absolutely NO reason to not love someone ESPECIALLY after you FIRST meet them. WHat have they done to you at that point that merits a no-love response? I'm not calling any one person out, I'm just sayin: If we are to truly live out a CHRISTian walk.....we best be lovin' on peole. CHRISTmas is a time of celebration for what our God has done for us. "For He SO LOVED the world, that he GAVE His ONLY begotten Son that who so ever BELIEVES in Him, should NOT perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 The God of the UNOVERSE Loved YOU enough to send His Son to the Earth, live a human life, with human temptation, and die on a cross as YOUR scape goat. THIS IS A BIG DEAL! Some people cannot wrap their minds around someone loving them that much bec...

December :)

October is my favorite month, but December...oh December.....it makes me heart so happy. It's like the cute boy in your boring class who just makes it worth it. ......an oatmeal cream pie following a rigorous workout. Vanilla Raspberry Black Coffee at 5:30am.... ....a hug on a less-than-stellar day... ...a dress with pockets.... You get it. December is FANTASTIC! I am challenging myself to blog every day in December. As most of you have realized, I am a truly awful blogger when it comes to my consistency. I look at this challenge as a way to work on my reliability and commitment issues :) I'm glad I have YOU to hold me accountable :)
