Chelsea the Elf, what's your favorite color?

Sorry for the absence team! My fam has been running like crazy since I touched down in Texas.

Shocking? No.

Yesterday, was just amazin. Started out with a FANTASTIC message from Pastor Robert entitled, "O Little Town of Bethlehem" talking about how God uses small, seemingly insignificant people, places, and things to perform miracles and fulfill promises :) check it out (www.gatewaypeople.com)

After church, I went for a run. I think Texas makes me slower....awe well....gotta push through :)

We loaded up the fam and headed to a SUper Target to participate in Christmas shopping for YouthWorld, an AMAZING organization in Dallas commited to being the hands and feet of Jesus in the young lives of "at-risk" children in the area. (youthworld.org)

The way it works is money is donated by sponsors, and those sponsors come in and shop with the kids. They get $50 to spend however they want. Afterward, we black out barcodes and make the clothes irreturnable so that the parents cannot return them for money....sad that that is even an issue..

Chaney and I were paired up with a precious kiddo named Kumidre or just "Dre" who was just the coolest kid. Honestly, he kinda looked like the little guy in the Superbowl doritos commercial...so I obviously loved him :) He's 7 years old, wants to be a lawyer when he grows up and LOVES the Dallas Cowboys and UT Longhorns (I let that one slide :])

The unforunate part of the shopping spree was that we couldn't go above $50, and I wanted to give Dre EVERYTHING he wanted. I for sure struggled with that. I did manage to get some extra money and splurge on a batman backpack and blue shaun white sneakers :)

It was SO special to hang out with the kiddos :) They are just so full of life and just want to be loved on. SO BLESSED to be apart of that. If I end up in dallas after grad...who knows, I for sure want to get more involved.

TODAY! WAS JUST GRAND!! Cookie exchange at Chaney's friends house. I hung out with the mothers and discussed rezoning of the school district as I siped on a mimosa. It was a rather humorous part of my existence. Then lunch with my dear dear Krista!

THEN!!! My mom and I went off to pick up the 16 foot box truck that God has provided to help distribute the gifts tomorrow for YouthWorld. I'll explain more tomorrow!!

God's about to rock my world :)

Reason for the Season

"We love because HE FIRST LOVED us." 1 John 4:19 We are called to do as Christ did; Love...LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I cannot say that enough times. We are called to LOVE everyone. Love your fellow humans. There is absolutely NO reason to not love someone ESPECIALLY after you FIRST meet them. WHat have they done to you at that point that merits a no-love response? I'm not calling any one person out, I'm just sayin: If we are to truly live out a CHRISTian walk.....we best be lovin' on peole. CHRISTmas is a time of celebration for what our God has done for us. "For He SO LOVED the world, that he GAVE His ONLY begotten Son that who so ever BELIEVES in Him, should NOT perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 The God of the UNOVERSE Loved YOU enough to send His Son to the Earth, live a human life, with human temptation, and die on a cross as YOUR scape goat. THIS IS A BIG DEAL! Some people cannot wrap their minds around someone loving them that much bec...

December :)

October is my favorite month, but December...oh December.....it makes me heart so happy. It's like the cute boy in your boring class who just makes it worth it. ......an oatmeal cream pie following a rigorous workout. Vanilla Raspberry Black Coffee at 5:30am.... ....a hug on a less-than-stellar day... ...a dress with pockets.... You get it. December is FANTASTIC! I am challenging myself to blog every day in December. As most of you have realized, I am a truly awful blogger when it comes to my consistency. I look at this challenge as a way to work on my reliability and commitment issues :) I'm glad I have YOU to hold me accountable :)

Wanted: Colorado Mountain Man

I found this title fitting because of my crazy urge to hike up mountains lately! (and because Dear Darci and I joked about this being the name of my blog, becuase, let's face it, that's my type :]) I realize I have three days to catch you up on, here we go, lightning round style! Sunday: Went to Mountain View Bible Fellowship right down the mountain from the Inn. I was a little nervous, but it's God's House and God's family....hopefully I'd be welcome. God blessed me with the most wonderful older women. One of them called after me as I walked in exclaiming that she did not know my face. Her name is Joyce and her and her husband lived in Waco the first three years they were married. She did not enjoy it and she has no problem letting me know that. She has been going to this church since 1962. Insert Barbie (wearing an ironic pink skirt suit) her and Joyce have been best friends since the 70's. Joyce then begins to introduce me to nearly every member of the co...
