I'll Be Home For Christmas

After a trip to the gym and some visits from my lovely friends, I decided to go home to Texas two days early :) I was ready to see my fam :)

Let me give you a quick rundown of the Rose Clan:

They are so fantastic and crazy and just plum fantastic :)

  • My parents, Steel and Angie, are still crazy in love after nearly 30 years. Their secret: Keep God the center of their relationship and continue to date one another. I used to find it slighty ridiculous how MUCH my parents were together. They own and operate a publishing company together and after working together all day...they want to go on dates in the evening time. It's just adorable. They have set an amazing example for what I want in my marriage.

  • My oldest sister, Deseree', is the most intellectually impresseive out of the five of us (yes, five). She is a practining vet in Oklahoma City. She is one of the most intelligent people I know. I helped her with her medical presentations all of vet school, and she can pronounce some words that I'm not sure were ever meant to BE pronounced. She's simply amazing. She married my super goofy and wonderful bubba-in-law, Dustin, her last semester of undergrad, and brought my sweet sweet monster-of-a-nephew Daxter into this world at the end of her first year in vet school. Vet school is said to be harder than medical school....and homegirl dominated it through being a NEWLYWED, PREGNANT, AND MOTHER OF A TODDLER BOY...yes..I'd say she's impressive. Dustin also brought his fabulous children into our family, blessing me with another great nephew and simply precious niece, Gaitlin and Cammie. What a sweet family :)

  • Chantz is my 16 year old, best friend of a brother. I just love this kid. Being smack in the middle of 4 sisters has shaped him into a sincerely wonderful young man. He's incredibly talented. He can honestly master ANYTHING. ANY instrument, sport, or hobby he has picked up, he's awesome at it. His chosen activities to be awesome at are soccer, drums, and poetry. He has a god given ability to befriend EVERYONE. EVERYONE likes him! I cannot wait to see what God does with his life.

  • Destiny is my super adorable 12 year old sister. Number one, homegirl's a DIVA, BUT she has a super big heart for Christ and helping others. She is a leader in Students Standing Strong, a Christian organization at her middle school. AND THE GIRL CAN SING! She has an AMAZING voice that she uses in worship and to simply annoy...I mean impress (:]) the fam. She has matured in her spiritual walk further than most adults. She is just phenomenal.

  • Chaney is th genius of the family. Yes, Des has the booksmarts, and the PhD, but Chaney is wise and intelligent beyond her years. She is 9 and is incredibly artistic and creative. She's been drawing since she knew better than to EAT the pencil. She has the spiritual gift of evangelism, and it is already very very apparent. She just has a passion for sharing the gospel. She will change the world, I'm sure of it. Her insight on theological matters is rather astounding for a elementary student. Sierra Chaney Angelica Faith Rose. know the name...she'll have a documentary done on her one day.

God has done some amazing things in my family's heart (one, collective, heart :]) in the last few years. We just want to serve, do as Jesus did. We just want to love on the world. BUT we also want to emphasize the fact that Christians are not fun-sucking killjoys. We love Jesus and have fun doing it :)

This break is going to be super good for my heart :)

Cabin Fever

I want to run. BUT I am SO thankful for this time to work on school work. God is good and faithful :) It's just 5 short days until my FAVORITE day of the year: VALENTINE'S DAY! I know...I know... grumblegrumblegrumblegrumble Hear me out here: Forget about the pepto-pink aisles at WalMart lined with Love Note TUMS and enough candy to send you into a sugar coma for 19 months. Forget about the oversized Teddy bears that could double as couches if you ever found yourself in a pinch.Go with me here: Imagine a day where everyone has a little lift to their step, Imagine a day where sincere compliments are filling the hallways of offices and schools. Imagine smiles, all smiles, all day long. Imagine if for just one day everyone truly Loved their neighbor and treated everyone they met that day as a friend. That's the kind of Valentine's Day I'm rooting for :) More on that tomorrow :) Maybe I'll get to run too :)

Reason for the Season

"We love because HE FIRST LOVED us." 1 John 4:19 We are called to do as Christ did; Love...LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I cannot say that enough times. We are called to LOVE everyone. Love your fellow humans. There is absolutely NO reason to not love someone ESPECIALLY after you FIRST meet them. WHat have they done to you at that point that merits a no-love response? I'm not calling any one person out, I'm just sayin: If we are to truly live out a CHRISTian walk.....we best be lovin' on peole. CHRISTmas is a time of celebration for what our God has done for us. "For He SO LOVED the world, that he GAVE His ONLY begotten Son that who so ever BELIEVES in Him, should NOT perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 The God of the UNOVERSE Loved YOU enough to send His Son to the Earth, live a human life, with human temptation, and die on a cross as YOUR scape goat. THIS IS A BIG DEAL! Some people cannot wrap their minds around someone loving them that much bec...

December :)

October is my favorite month, but December...oh December.....it makes me heart so happy. It's like the cute boy in your boring class who just makes it worth it. ......an oatmeal cream pie following a rigorous workout. Vanilla Raspberry Black Coffee at 5:30am.... ....a hug on a less-than-stellar day... ...a dress with pockets.... You get it. December is FANTASTIC! I am challenging myself to blog every day in December. As most of you have realized, I am a truly awful blogger when it comes to my consistency. I look at this challenge as a way to work on my reliability and commitment issues :) I'm glad I have YOU to hold me accountable :)
